DOJO IN TAIWAN

The pilot DOJO Program was held in Taiwan in cooperation with National Cheng Kung University and Mitsui Fudosan from February 8 – 16. Students visited Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Tainan to learn about the different shopping cultures in Taiwan and how different they are from Japanese shopping culture. Using LaLaport in Taichung as a case study, students investigated how Taiwanese perceive Japanese business strategies through interviews and field surveys. Toward the end, each team composed of UT and NCKU students created and presented proposals to various stakeholders on how to improve customer experience and business activities, addressing potential gaps. These proposals were presented to urban planning experts and mall developers with the hope of promoting sustainable shopping practices.
