DOJO in France: A plan to have an activity about “Mountains in a Changing World”

Dialogue with Université Grenoble-Alpes (UGA), for a potential DOJO-GASSHUKU in 2026. The theme will be the effects of climate change on the French Alps. Issues such as receding glaciers due to global warming increased the risk of flooding, landslides, and impacted the mountain ecosystem. It also affected local businesses, including ski resorts. It will be set in late June to early July next year.



Prof. Pascale HUYGHE, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, UFR PhITEM, Université Grenoble Alpes, shared her vision for the DOJO Activity in France. It will be a two-week program of combined fieldwork and design workshop in cooperation with UGA Design Factory. Students will have the opportunity to observe the current situation of the glaciers and the damage caused by disasters associated with climate change.
