Recruitment for Multicultural-co-learning in INDIA this March!

26.01.16

We are currently recruiting students who are interested in joining a multicultural co-learning program at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) in Assam, India. Students from the University of Tsukuba (UT) and IITG will work together to explore societal challenges that can be addressed through Appropriate Technology.

This program is a collaborative, cross-cultural initiative designed to foster sustainable innovation through a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) framework. Bringing together students from Japan and India, the program focuses on applying the principles of Appropriate Technology to identify and solve real-world challenges specific to the Northeastern Region (NER) of India. Through intensive co-creation workshops, mixed teams will leverage their diverse academic backgrounds and cultural perspectives to develop context-sensitive solutions, integrating technical engineering expertise with social empathy.

Participants will also engage with the broader academic community during the Japan–NER Conference 2026, gaining wider regional and interdisciplinary insights. The program culminates in a final presentation, where students showcase their co-created technology concepts and share key findings from their fieldwork.
