Would you like to have an Exchange Program IN TSUKUBA this spring semester?

We would like to invite all students from the University of Tsukuba to join the Bordeaux-Tsukuba GASSHUKU program for Social Impact (BT-GASSHUKU).

In the BT-GASSHUKU program, we will form working groups between students from UT and students from the University of Bordeaux. The groups will spend 8 weeks (Late April to Early June) working on a Digital Agriculture project to help wineries in both Japan and France.

Program Outline

  • Period: Late April to June 12;
  • Objective: Form a group with exchange students from the University of Bordeaux and develop a project on Digital Agriculture;

Who can participate?

  • We invite undergraduate students from the university of Tsukuba, from any course or year.
  • A small number of students will be selected to this program, on a first come, first served basis.
  • Students who can join all three days (4/20,4/24,5/25) is acceptable.

What are the activities?

  • Students from UT and from the University of Bordeaux (6 students from the Engineering program) will make mixed groups of 4 people.
  • Each group will prepare a project with the theme: “Digial Technologies to serve the needs of Traditional Wineries in Japan and Tsukuba”.
  • To help the development of the project, several activities are planned.
    • Visits to the Tsukuba Winery at the start and end of the project;
    • Short classes from Winery specialists;
    • Brainstorming sessions with professors from Information Sciences;
    • Final Report session with professors from the University of Bordeaux;
  • All activities are in English;

Other Information

  • This program is part of the “Social Impact” initiative at the University of Tsukuba;
  • Participants in this project may be invited for a “Winter School” at the University of Bordeaux, in February;
