この夏、グルノーブル・アルプ大学（UGA）の学生とともに、フランス・アルプスを舞台にした多文化共修に参加しませんか？ハイキングを取り入れた実践的な学びを通じて、変化するアルプスの環境（気候変動や自然災害）を多角的に理解します。都市から高山、氷河まで多様なフィールドでの観察、調査、議論に挑戦します。専門分野は問いません。どなたも大歓迎。それぞれの専門や関心を活かした視点から課題に取り組んでみませんか。
Join students from the University of Grenoble-Alpes (UGA) this summer for a multicultural study set in the French Alps. Through hands-on learning that incorporates hiking, students gain a multifaceted understanding of the changing environment of the Alps (climate change and natural disasters). We will challenge ourselves to observe, investigate, and discuss in a variety of fields, from cities to high mountains and glaciers. Specialization is not required. Everyone is welcome. Why don’t you tackle the issue from the perspective of making use of each specialty and interest?

Fort Bastille: observe the relationship between urban development and topography - ラウタレ植物園（標高約2,000m）：高地生態系・高山植物の調査
Lautare Botanical Garden (approx. 2,000 m above sea level): Survey of high-altitude ecosystems and alpine plants - シャモニー（モンブラン麓）：氷河後退の観察・気候変動の影響分析
Chamonix (Mont Blanc): Observation of glacier retreat and analysis of the impact of climate change - 地質横断調査：地形・地質の観察と地図作成
Cross-geological survey: observation and mapping of topography and geology - 生態観察：高山植物・動物の観察
Ecological observation: Observation of alpine plants and animals

The Mountains in a Changing World summer school aims to raise awareness among non-specialists of climate change in mountain environments.
Participants will be immersed in the French Alps and explore the forces and powers at play there through various seminars, case studies and mountain field trips. In this activity, you will see a story unfold. This story starts deep in the heart of the Earth, where powerful forces come to play, generating movement and disruption, where mountains are thrust up and are subjected to the effects of time, wind, water, and temperatures. On these mountains, flora and fauna have developed and adapted to harsh conditions, temperature ranges, extreme cold, radiations and low pressures. Humans have also made it their domain, captured water, settled along banks and in valleys as well as higher up. They have exploited trees, controlled water, wind and the sun for energy, fed on nature and created activities for their economic survival and enjoyment.
Climate, population and political changes have shaped and are continuously shaping physical, sociological, political and social environments. The recent acceleration of some of these processes questions us: Where are we heading as a complex interactive system made of living and inanimate elements? During these two weeks, we will tackle this question, by showing you the environment we live in and providing you with insight on how it came about and what it has undergone. Researchers from the University and guest lecturers invite you to discover these topics through various case studies. These studies will serve as the bases for the discussions and debates that you will actively participate in. At the end of the program, you will have a better understanding of how mountainous environments respond to change and how living beings interact with these environments.

- 申請者は、申請時にパスポートを所持している必要があります。※パスポートを現時点で持っている方が優先となりますが、応相談です。
Applicants must have a valid passport during the application (negotiable) - 筑波大学の学生の中から選抜された12名（最大）には、「はばたけ！筑大生」より旅費15万円が支給されます。
Selected University of Tsukuba Students (12 slots) will receive Habatake Support: 150,000 JPY for travel expenses - 以下の費用概算（航空券、宿泊費用）はあくまで試算です。金額は変更する場合があります。なお、4月21日現在、航空券の価格は約26万円、宿泊費は約2万円であり、合計で約13万円が学生１名当たりの負担額となりますが、確定ではありません。
Students will cover the additional expenses due to transportation. As of April 21, Air ticket prices are around 260,000 JPY and the accommodation is around 20,000 JPY. Students must be prepared to cover around 130,000 JPY.

The program will include a preparatory session in Tsukuba and a post-activity session (online).
