Field Study on Disasters and Disaster Prevention: A Joint Programme between National Cheng Kung University and the University of Tsukuba

日本はその歴史の中で地震、大規模な火災、水害、戦災など数多くの災害に遭ってきました。台湾もまた台風、地震を始めとする大きな災害の被害を幾度となく受けてきました。

このフィールドスタディでは、国立成功大学（NCKU）の学生と共に、福島の東日本大震災。原子力災害伝承館、東京の江戸東京博物館を訪問し、災害、防災、復興について考えます。

Throughout its history, Japan has suffered numerous disasters, including earthquakes, large-scale fires, floods and war damage. Taiwan, too, has been struck time and again by major disasters, such as typhoons and earthquakes.

In this field study, we will visit the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum and the Edo-Tokyo Museum in Tokyo, together with students from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), to reflect on disasters, disaster prevention and reconstruction.

2026年7月9日：事前学習
7月12日：オリエンテーション。
7月13日：東日本大震災・原子力災害伝承館訪問。東日本大震災が福島に与他インパクトと災害からの復興を学ぶ。
7月14日：江戸東京博物館訪問。
7月15日：筑波大学でグループワークショップ。フィールドワークでの経験・知見・気付きを基に課題を発見・分析し、解決法を模索する。関連したトピックでのマンガのストーリー作りを通して個人レベルでのインパクトを考える。
7月16日：グループ単位の成果発表会。作成したマンガストーリーとその背景について発表する。
（7月17日:NCKU学生帰国）
7月21日：事後学習。個人単位での振り返りとキャリアデザインへの展望を発表する。

Schedule
9 July 2026: Pre-departure study
12 July: Orientation.
13 July: Visit to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum. Learn about the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake on Fukushima and the recovery from the disaster.
14 July: Visit to the Edo-Tokyo Museum.
15 July: Group workshop at the University of Tsukuba. Based on experiences, insights and observations gained during the fieldwork, identify and analyse issues, and explore solutions. Consider the impact at an individual level through the creation of manga stories on related topics.
16 July: Group presentation session. Present the manga stories created and the background behind them.
(17 July: NCKU students return home)
21 July: Post-programme learning. Present individual reflections and outlooks on career design.

参加条件
学群生・大学院修士・博士前期課程の正規生、交換留学生なら専門・国籍を問わずどなたでも参加出来ます。
プログラムの全日程に参加出来ることが求められます。
国籍の異なる学生によるグループワークですので日常会話に支障がない程度の英語力があることが望ましいです。

Eligibility
The programme is open to all full-time students in the School of Science and Engineering, as well as Master’s and first-year PhD students; exchange students are also welcome, regardless of their field of study or nationality.

費用
東京への交通費、施設入館料、食費は参加者各自持ちです。
福島への移動は借り上げバスで移動しますので負担はありません。

Costs
Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses to Tokyo, admission fees to facilities, and meal costs.
Transport to Fukushima will be provided by a chartered coach, so there is no cost to participants.

単位及び修了認定について
本プログラムの全日程に参加し、所期の学修を修めたと大学が認める者には、修了証とともに、各コンピテンスの到達度を示すデジタルバッジ（※）を授与します。また、科目番号8331153「多文化共修による課題解決実習(国内)A」①単位を付与します。
※デジタルバッジとは、世界共通の技術標準規格に沿って発行されるデジタル証明・認証です。物ではなく、データとして授与され、自分専用の「オープンバッジウォレット」で一元管理されます。授与されたオープンバッジは、SNSでの共有ができるほか、自身の学修歴の内容を示すエビデンスとしても使用可能です。本事業でのデジタルバッジは、JV-Campusを介して発行されます。

Credits and Certification
Participants who attend the entire programme and are recognised by the University as having completed the required learning will be awarded a certificate of completion, along with digital badges (*) indicating their level of achievement in each competency. Additionally, one credit will be awarded for course number 8331153, ‘Problem-Solving Practicum through Multicultural Collaborative Learning (Domestic) A’.
*Digital badges are digital certificates and credentials issued in accordance with globally recognised technical standards. They are awarded as data rather than physical items and are centrally managed in a personal ‘Open Badge Wallet’. Awarded open badges can be shared on social media and used as evidence of one’s learning history. Digital badges for this programme are issued via JV-Campus.
