Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati), the sixth member of the IIT system, was established in 1994, with academic programs beginning in 1995. Today, the institute has 11 departments, 7 interdisciplinary academic centers, and 5 schools covering a wide range of disciplines, including engineering, science, healthcare, management, and humanities.
