❔What is “Multicultural Co‑Learning”?
A. Multicultural co‑learning refers to activities in which Japanese and international students work together, inside and outside Japan, to tackle complex social issues that are difficult to solve, while crossing barriers in culture, language, and academic fields. The University university aims, through its Social Impact Project initiatives, to increase student mobility, and establish multicultural co‑learning as a core, university‑wide practice.
❔What does “DOJO” mean?
A. “DOJO” refers to specific countries or regions where multicultural co‑learning activities are carried out strategically and intensively.
This project will establish six DOJO locations.
For example, the program held with National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan in February 2024 is considered one instance of multicultural co‑learning conducted at the DOJO in Taiwan.
For now, the university will utilize its strong global partner‑schools network, the CiC Network to develop and expand these DOJO sites.
❔Can multicultural co‑learning only be carried out in a DOJO?
A. No. Multicultural co‑learning can take place in several types of locations:
GASSHUKU – locations on campus or within Japan where multicultural co‑learning is conducted.
DOJO – countries or regions where multicultural co‑learning is carried out strategically and intensively.
Other overseas locations – countries or regions where individual multicultural co‑learning programs are conducted.
