７月上旬に実施されるGASSHUKU in 大子町に向け、学内での事前学習も大詰めです。GASSHUKU in 大子町は、本学の地球規模課題学位プログラム（BPGI)の学生を中心に、大子町をフィールドに課題解決型学習を行う多文化共修活動です。BPGIの外国人学生１５名に加え、全学公募も実施し、日本人学生（学群生２名、大学院生１名）も参加します。また、今回はTA２名参加。熱心に参加学生たちの事前学習をサポートしていました。
In preparation for the upcoming GASSHUKU in Daigo Town scheduled for early July, the final stages of on-campus pre-learning are underway. GASSHUKU in Daigo Town is a multicultural co-learning activity centered around students in the university’s Bachelor’s Program in Global Issues (BPGI), where participants engage in problem-based learning (PBL) using Daigo Town as a field site.
In addition to the 15 international students from BPGI, participation was also open university-wide, and three Japanese students (two undergraduate and one graduate student) will be joining. Two teaching assistants (TAs) are also taking part, providing enthusiastic support to students during the pre-learning phase.
事前学習では、大子町の職員の方とオンラインで繋がり、大子町の魅力や、大子町の抱える課題についてのお話をいただきました。質疑セッションでは学生から多くの質問があがり、活発なディスカッションが行われました。さらに、学生の視点から、大子町の抱える課題をブレインストーミングした後、課題を分類しました。学生たちは実際のフィールドワークに向け、さらに準備を進めていきます。
Today’s session connected students online with staff members from Daigo Town, who shared insights into the town’s charm as well as the challenges it faces. During the Q&A session, students posed many questions, sparking active discussions. Afterwards, the students brainstormed the issues facing Daigo Town from their own perspectives and proceeded to categorize these challenges. With the actual fieldwork approaching, the students are continuing to prepare diligently.
BPGIの外国人学生の中に混じって参加する日本人の学生の一人は、「勇気をもって参加した。参加してみてよかった。英語を使うことは、特に話すのが大変なこともあるけれど、活動を楽しむことができている。」とコメントしていました。
One of the Japanese students participating alongside the international students from BPGI commented, “I joined with a sense of courage, and I’m glad I did. Using English—especially speaking—can be challenging at times, but I’m enjoying the activities.”
