Brazil Overseas Academic Study Tour 2026

Brasília & São Paulo
August 1–7, 2026

Program Overview
We are recruiting participants for a short-term overseas academic study program visiting Brasília and São Paulo, Brazil.
Participants will attend the 2nd STJ Japan–Brazil Law Conference held at the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) in Brasília and take part in a multicultural co-learning activity at the University of São Paulo Faculty of Law, where they will explore and discuss social issues.
Participants may be eligible to earn academic credits upon fulfilling the required conditions. Since participants will support and learn from each other throughout the program, students who are not confident in their English skills are also encouraged to apply.

Overseas Study Tour Details

Dates:
August 1–7, 2026

Planned return to Japan: August 9, 2026)

Destinations:
Brasília and São Paulo, Brazil

Number of Participants:
5 students

Estimated Participation Cost:
Approximately ¥485,000
(Including airfare and accommodation expenses)

★ Participants will receive a Habata-ke Scholarship (¥150,000).

Transportation costs within Brazil, including:

  • Airport ↔ accommodation
  • Accommodation ↔ program venues

will be covered by the University of Tsukuba.

Participants are responsible for their own miscellaneous expenses and meals.

Eligibility

  • Undergraduate students who are interested in law and social issues, including students from the College of Social Sciences, School of Social Sciences, as well as students from all other educational organizations.
  • Students who are willing to actively participate in English communication and multicultural co-learning activities.

Application Procedure

Please prepare the following information in Japanese or English and submit it by email to the program coordinator.

  1. Reason for wanting to visit Brazil
    • Japanese: approximately 200 characters
    • English: approximately 100 words
  2. Previous learning experiences related to law
    • Courses taken and studies related to legal studies
  3. Social issues you would like to explore through this program
    • Japanese: approximately 100 characters
    • English: approximately 50 words
  4. Current passport status
    • Whether you already have a passport
    • If not, expected time of acquisition
  5. Previous overseas travel experience
  6. Description of English proficiency
  7. Description of Portuguese proficiency (if applicable)
