The Chat Events are perfect for students who want to enjoy international exchange on campus in a relaxed atmosphere! Whether you’re looking to make friends with international students, practice your English, or explore other languages such as French, Spanish, Chinese, or Korean, this event is for you.
There are two types of chat sessions — English Chat and Multilingual Chat — held every week at the Student Commons (Building 1A, 2nd Floor).
This time, we stopped by English Chat to see what it was like!
Some participants shared that they attend every week, while others said, “I can really feel that my English listening skills are gradually improving.” Students enjoyed conversations in small groups, using whiteboards and other tools to help communicate and share their ideas effectively.
Students who attend 10 chat sessions receive a special commemorative gift. During this visit, a second-year student celebrated their 10th participation and received a wonderful novelty gift!
Multilingual Chat features language tables for Japanese, French, Spanish, and many other languages, giving you the opportunity to enjoy conversations beyond English!

- Beginners, first-time participants, and those attending on their own are all encouraged to join.
- Feel free to drop in for a single session, arrive late, or leave early.
- A Beginner Table is available, so no prior language skills are required. Enjoy games and fun activities while experiencing different languages.
- If you need help, friendly international student staff who speak Japanese fluently will be there to support you.
