Career Development and Global Competencies Highlighted in the University of Tsukuba’s Career Design Introductory Course.
Social Impact Promotion Office, in collaboration with Bureau of Human Empowerment(BHE), held a Global Start-upper Seminar and a special lecture featuring journalists from NHK (Japan Broadcasting Cooperation) as part of the undergraduate foundational course for Career Design Introductory Course. This course invites distinguished alumni active in various fields to speak as guest lecturers, offering students an opportunity to learn about career development through real-life experiences.
The course aims to help students recognize that their future selves are shaped by the accumulation of their past, present, and future experiences, enabling them to set clear goals for their university life and develop their career design skills. It also emphasizes cultivating intercultural communication abilities and learning how to collaborate with people from different cultural backgrounds in an increasingly global society.
■ Session 5 (Oct. 29)
Alumnus Kohei Muto delivered a lecture, sharing how his experiences at the university influenced his current career path.

■ Session 6 (Nov. 12) – Special Lecture by NHK (Japan Broadcasting Cooperation)
Two professionals from NHK joined as guest speakers, discussing frontline international reporting and insights into media production:
- Kohei Tsuji, NHK Reporter / International Report 2025 Newscaster
- Fumi Tanaka, NHK Political & International Programs Division, Producer
Their talks provided valuable perspectives on journalism, reporting on global issues, and navigating the responsibilities of media in society.

■ Session 7 (Nov. 19)
Alumnus Kiyoto Kurokawa took the stage to speak about the significance of his activities and career journey. The session featured an active Q&A, with students engaging in lively discussion.

Through these guest lectures, students deepened their understanding of how to design their own career paths and how to work effectively in multicultural environments, gaining insights that will inform their future studies and personal development.
